Spanish teaching course: methodology and teaching of Spanish

We have just launched a specific 20 hour course on the methodology and teaching of Spanish.

This is a general course on teaching Spanish as second or foreign language and it covers the first stage of development of teaching competence.It is aimed at those interested in starting to teach Spanish professionally. Participants will acquire the basic knowledge, skills, techniques, and tools needed to start teaching. 

It aims to answer questions such as: How do you approach teaching ELE?, what methodologies and approaches should you use?, what are the language´s communicative activities the students must learn to do?, how do you handle errors in the acquisition of ELE?, etc. 

The main aspects of the course are:

• The evolution of the ELE methodology.


• The principle characteristics of the communicative approach.


• Lesson planning.


• Typologies. Interaction in the classroom.


• Language used in the classroom and the handling of errors.


• Teaching procedures and resources.

You may already know that the course is open all year, it is online and it lasts 20 hours. It is divided into five modules or lessons specifically designed to facilitate the student´s understanding of the content.

Each module provides examples that enrich the content and illustrate the dynamics of learning in a classroom.

The entire course is done on a computer application that allows the course content to be downloaded and that gives access to a messaging service with your tutor so that you can ask questions and for clarification. You will find the course content, both lessons and practicals, and an intuitive communication system with your tutor in the Web application.

You will find activities that you can do at your own pace in the practical area and you can ask the teacher if you have any doubts. Each student has a tutor who they can contact through the web application. This virtual form allows you to do the course in comfort as you can decide the pace at which you study and when you wish to finish the course and gain the certificate.
